An 111-year-old great-grandfather in England, John Alfred Tinniswood, has been recognized as the world’s oldest person following the passing of 114-year-old Juan Vicente Pérez. Tinniswood attributed his longevity to “pure luck.” Born in 1912, he resides in a retirement home in Southport, still managing his finances and staying updated with the news. Tinniswood, a former accounts worker for Shell and BP, has a simple diet, enjoys fish and chips on Fridays, refrains from smoking and rarely drinks alcohol. His advice to younger generations is to always give their best effort in all endeavors.
