Two pilots aboard a Batik Air flight in Indonesia fell asleep, causing the plane to deviate from its intended route. The incident happened during a flight from Kendari to Jakarta with 153 passengers and four crew members on board. The pilots, aged 32 and 28, dozed off for about 28 minutes while at cruising altitude. Upon waking up, they corrected the course, and the plane landed safely in Jakarta. The report revealed that the second pilot, who was caring for newborn twins and had sleep struggles, also unintentionally fell asleep. The airline faced criticism, and authorities have launched an investigation into Batik Air’s night flight operations. The two pilots have been temporarily suspended by Batik Air.
