Nine individuals from Tajikistan have been arrested by the country’s security agency due to suspicions of having links to those responsible for the recent attack at a Moscow concert hall that left 144 victims dead. These detainees are also suspected of ties to the Islamic State group. In a separate development, a suspect named Lutfulloi Nazrimad, also reportedly from Tajikistan, has been ordered to remain in custody until at least May 22 as part of the ongoing investigation. Russian authorities have previously detained multiple suspects in connection to the attack, some of whom showed signs of physical abuse during a court appearance. The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Russian officials, including President Vladimir Putin, have alleged, without evidence, involvement from Ukraine and Western powers. Ukrainian officials deny these accusations, attributing them to Russian motives in escalating conflicts in Ukraine. The death toll from the attack has risen to 144 following the passing of an injured victim in a Russian hospital.
