British lawmakers have been targeted in a malicious phishing attempt involving explicit messages sent to their phones. Conservative MPs Luke Evans and William Wragg were among those affected. The scam, known as “spear phishing,” involved individuals pretending to be someone else to obtain sensitive information. The incident is under investigation by the Leicestershire Police and the Metropolitan Police. British intelligence agencies have warned about cyberattacks targeting politicians, possibly linked to foreign states like China.
