Millions of Indians celebrated the Hindu festival of Holi by dancing, exchanging food and drinks, and smearing colorful powder on each other. Holi, known as the festival of colors, marks the arrival of spring in India and celebrates the love between the gods Krishna and Radha. The festivities included water balloon fights, traditional beverages like Thandai and Bhang (made from cannabis leaves), and bonfires symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. Various regions in India have unique customs for Holi, such as the “Lathmar Holi,” where women playfully hit men with sticks. The celebrations were marked by joy and an embrace of positivity, with people across the country coming together to partake in the colorful and vibrant traditions of Holi.
