Scientists have found that bumblebees can learn from one another, showing a level of collective intelligence previously thought unique to humans. In experiments, the bees could teach each other how to solve a two-step puzzle box for food. This ability challenges the idea that only humans can learn behaviors collectively and suggests that social learning might play a bigger role in animal societies than previously thought.
