Niagara Region in Ontario has declared a state of emergency in anticipation of a million visitors for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8th. This will be the first total solar eclipse in the province since 1979, with Niagara Falls being a prime location to witness it. The city is preparing for an influx of tourists, with the mayor expecting record numbers in a single day. The state of emergency declaration aims to deal with potential issues such as traffic jams, increased demands on emergency services, and possible cell phone network overloads. The eclipse will begin on Mexico’s Pacific coast, go through the United States, and end in eastern Canada, with most of the continent experiencing a partial eclipse.
