A boat carrying nearly 200 tons of food and organized by celebrity chef José Andrés is on its way to the Gaza coast to aid the enclave facing severe hunger. The boat, dispatched by U.S. nonprofit World Central Kitchen and a Spanish search-and-rescue group, aims to deliver much-needed aid in a region where Israel has restricted food and water supplies due to the conflict with Hamas. Despite challenges like uncertain logistics and Israeli blockade hurdles, the mission seeks to combat mass starvation in Gaza. Efforts to enhance food delivery have also been proposed, including President Biden’s plan for a floating pier off Gaza’s coast, but the current focus is on the food boat’s safe arrival and distribution with the help of local leaders.
