Ukraine is heavily utilizing drones to make up for a shortage of artillery shells and weaken Russian military capabilities. The use of various types of drones, notably First Person View (FPV) drones, is on the rise and proving effective in pinpointing enemy positions and launching attacks. Ukraine has allocated a significant budget for drone production and support from allies like London and Paris. However, experts caution that while drones offer new advantages, they are not a complete substitute for traditional artillery methods. The effectiveness of drones can be limited due to factors such as payload capacity and vulnerability to countermeasures. Despite Ukraine’s current drone superiority, Russia is catching up fast, utilising drones for its military operations as well. The reliance on drones presents both opportunities and challenges in modern warfare scenarios.
