A state of emergency has been declared in Liptovské Mikuláš, Slovakia after a brown bear injured five people as it roamed through the town. The victims, one of whom is a 10-year-old girl, sustained various injuries, including an open head wound. Authorities are working with police and hunting associations to locate the bear and have established patrols to prevent it from entering residential areas. The incident follows the death of a woman who was fatally injured while fleeing from a bear in the same region just two days earlier.
