Columbus, Ohio experienced high levels of air pollution last year, becoming the “most polluted major city in the U.S.” for the second year in a row, according to IQAir data. Fine particulate matter, especially PM2.5, was a significant concern due to its health impacts. Ozone pollution was also a major issue in Columbus during the summer months. The U.S. saw increased pollution levels due to Canadian wildfires, with some cities experiencing substantial rises. Surprisingly, cities like Portland, Seattle, and Los Angeles saw decreases in pollution levels. Globally, countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India ranked high in air pollution levels. In India, cities like Begusarai and Delhi faced severe air quality issues.
