New rules have been implemented for climbers attempting to scale Mount Everest this year, requiring them to bring their waste back down from the mountain to combat pollution. The high number of visitors and extreme conditions on Everest have led to a significant human waste issue. Climbers are now required to carry poop bags treated with chemicals to solidify waste and reduce odor. Efforts to mitigate the impact of tourism in the Himalayas have escalated, including the removal of thousands of kilograms of waste and plastics from various peaks.
