Germany celebrated the legalization of cannabis for recreational use as a new law came into effect. Adults can possess small amounts, with limits on amount and home-growing. Cannabis clubs will also be allowed for those who prefer not to grow their own. While some expressed concerns about risks and challenges, supporters hailed the move as ending the criminalization of cannabis users and a positive step. The law was brought by Germany’s ruling coalition and marks a significant shift in the country’s approach to marijuana.
