A family, including three children, was found dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide in a Honolulu home. The husband is suspected to have fatally stabbed his wife and children before taking his own life. The incident is considered a family annihilation, a term used for such crimes since the 1980s. This case is rare as firearms are typically used in such situations. Police have not determined a motive for the killings. Family annihilators are predominantly male and often die by suicide. The tragic event is the deadliest in Hawaii since 1999. If you or someone you know needs help, there are international helplines available for support.
