Over the weekend, a volcanic eruption near Grindavik, Iceland forced the evacuation of guests at the famous Blue Lagoon, with lava heading towards the town. The eruption occurred suddenly between Mount Hagafell and Mount Stora Skogfell and led to a quick evacuation. Visitors like Simone Werner described a terrifying scene as they left the area. The eruption, the fourth in three months in Iceland, caused a state of emergency in the region and the closure of the Blue Lagoon.
