A volcanic eruption in Iceland’s Reykjanes peninsula has led to evacuations in the town of Grindavik. This is the fourth eruption in the area since December, with the latest eruption producing a significant fissure and spewing lava. While the eruption is stable, concern remains over gas pollution, particularly sulfur dioxide, which can pose health risks. The emissions from this eruption are expected to reach continental Europe, including Russia. Despite concerns, experts do not anticipate a significant impact on air quality or climate from these emissions.
