A recent incident involving eight passengers left behind by a Norwegian cruise ship has highlighted the importance of being timely while on shore excursions during a cruise. The passengers were stranded in Africa after their ship departed without them due to a tour running overtime. Travel agent Joanna Kuther shared key steps for passengers to take in such situations, including contacting the cruise line immediately and reaching out to a travel agent for assistance with logistics. She also advised ensuring watches are set to ship time, returning to the ship at least an hour before departure, and carrying essentials like passports and credit cards. While the stranded passengers criticized the cruise line, emphasizing the need for punctuality, Kuther explained that cruise ships operate on tight schedules and must depart at designated times.
