The situation in Haiti’s capital of Port-au-Prince has worsened, with ongoing gang violence leading to a city in crisis. Gun battles between police and gangs have become a daily occurrence, leaving streets empty and essential supplies dwindling. Prime Minister Ariel Henry announced his resignation amid the turmoil, but a transitional government has yet to take shape. With gang control pervasive in the city, efforts are being made to establish an air bridge for aid delivery. Despite the perilous conditions, private evacuation helicopters continue to carry out flights for those able to afford them. Plans for foreign troops to assist in restoring peace are in jeopardy as Haiti grapples with escalating violence and uncertainty.
