Hamas also seeks the return of displaced individuals, aid for the people of Gaza, rebuilding efforts, ending the blockade, and a prisoner exchange deal involving Palestinian security prisoners and Israeli hostages. Israel has indicated its preference for a temporary truce to secure the release of hostages, while Hamas insists on a permanent resolution to the conflict. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed intentions to continue the military campaign in Gaza.
