Israeli authorities have imposed strict restrictions on Palestinians from the occupied West Bank trying to access the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem during Ramadan. Only individuals over 55 for men and 50 for women with permits are allowed in, leading to the exclusion of the majority. Despite this, thousands managed to attend, with tensions rising due to increased controls. Many Palestinians are expressing frustration and anger at the situation, which includes security checks and permit requirements, creating a volatile atmosphere. This has resulted in clashes and concerns of further trouble at the holy site. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has accused Israeli leaders of deceptive practices in limiting access to the mosque, prompting calls for international intervention to protect worship rights.
