Israel’s Coordinated Office of Government Activity in the Territories has accused the United Nations of failing to distribute humanitarian aid to Gaza. The agency posted a photo showing a backlog of aid waiting to be distributed on the Gazan side of the Kerem Shalom crossing. This accusation comes amidst concerns of famine in Gaza, particularly in the north of the region. The conflict highlights the challenges in aid distribution, with Israel claiming that UN agencies lack the capacity to distribute aid effectively. The International Court of Justice ordered Israel to increase the number of land crossing points to ensure the flow of aid. Israel contends that aid is not the issue but rather its distribution within Gaza, with Hamas being accused of impeding the process. In response, foreign nations have started dropping aid packages over Gaza from the air and are planning to deliver aid by sea.
