Protests erupted in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem over the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the plight of numerous hostages. Demonstrators in Tel Aviv blocked roads, demanding early elections and the release of hostages held by Hamas. In Jerusalem, protesters blamed Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government for failing to secure the hostages’ release. Police clashed with protesters, leading to arrests. Meanwhile, a second aid ship departed for Gaza as international organizations warned of a looming famine due to aid restrictions. The conflict began with Hamas attacks in October, resulting in thousands of casualties and widespread destruction. Israel has faced calls for a cease-fire but has continued its military actions in Gaza.
