A doctor at a field hospital in Israel’s Sde Teiman army base has reported “deplorable conditions” and frequent amputations due to handcuff injuries among detained Palestinians. The doctor highlighted concerns of compromised health and violations of medical ethics in a letter to Israeli authorities. The facility was established after civilians hospitals refused to admit Gazan detainees. Reports suggest detainees are constantly restrained, fed through straws, and subjected to diapers. The doctor’s letter criticized inadequate care and staffing issues, claiming some patients have died due to complications. The Israel Defense Forces refute the accusations, stating they operate within the law and prioritize detainees’ dignity and safety.
