Israeli airstrikes in Syria near Aleppo resulted in the deaths of dozens of Syrian soldiers, as well as members of Hezbollah and civilians. The attack marked a significant escalation in Israel’s military campaign against Iranian-backed forces. Israel, which rarely comments on operations in Syria, did not confirm the strikes. Hezbollah reported that seven of its members were killed in the Aleppo strikes. There were also reports of civilian casualties. In a separate incident, Israel acknowledged strikes in southern Lebanon targeting Hezbollah, resulting in the death of a senior Hezbollah official. The attacks have raised tensions in the region, with the UN expressing concern over the violence. Israeli officials stated their intention to continue targeting Hezbollah to weaken the group.
