Israel’s Supreme Court has paused a government plan to return Palestinian patients undergoing treatment in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv hospitals back to Gaza. The decision followed a petition by Physicians for Human Rights Israel, citing concerns over risks to lives amid conflict and a humanitarian crisis. The court injunction delayed the patients’ return, including newborns and cancer survivors, until at least Monday. Despite Israeli authorities allowing access to hospitals before October 7, uncertainty remains for these patients, with fears over the conditions and safety in Gaza.
