Jared Kushner, former senior White House official in the Trump administration and son-in-law of Donald Trump, faced accusations of “corruption” from Representative Robert Garcia over his new foreign real estate deals in Albania and Serbia. These projects, involving luxury buildings, are being pursued through his investment firm, Affinity Partners, which received funds from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. Critics, including Robert Weissman from Public Citizen, raised ethical concerns, with Garcia labeling the situation as “real corruption.” Kushner denied any preferential treatment, insisting his deals were separate from Trump and expressing no intention to return to government. Additionally, questions arose regarding his business ties to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who was implicated in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Meanwhile, as President Biden faces an impeachment inquiry into his alleged involvement in his son Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings, comparisons were drawn between Kushner and Hunter Biden on social media.
