Authorities in the Caribbean Sea off Colombia have made a significant cocaine seizure, capturing almost four tons of the drug from a speedboat in a joint operation involving the Colombian Navy, Colombian Air Force, and the US Southern Command. The seized cocaine is valued at over $113 million and the operation led to the detention of three Colombians, one Honduran, and one Venezuelan. The intercepted drugs and suspects were handed over to the Attorney General’s Office. This operation comes after a similar bust near the US Virgin Islands, and highlights the ongoing issue of drug trafficking in the region, with Colombia being a major producer of cocaine.
