Lithuania has accused Russian special services of being behind an attack on Russian opposition figure Leonid Volkov, calling it an act of “political terrorism.” Volkov, an ally of late activist Alexei Navalny, was hospitalized after being hit with a hammer in Vilnius. Lithuanian intelligence believes the attack was orchestrated by Russia and possibly carried out by a local recruit. This incident occurred close to Navalny’s death in prison, which Volkov’s allies blame on Russian President Vladimir Putin. Lithuanian officials are calling for increased protection for Russian opposition figures in the country. Kremlin spokesman Peskov declined to comment on the attack, stating it happened in another country.
