California Lottery has announced that a $1.765 billion Powerball jackpot from October has been claimed by a group of winners led by Theodorus Struyck, a 65-year-old man from Kern County. The winning ticket was purchased at Midway Market in Frazier Park, a small town with a population of around 3,000 people. The store received a $1 million bonus for selling the ticket. The jackpot is the second-largest in history, following a $2.04 billion win in California in 2022. Public schools benefited from an additional $119.5 million raised during the Powerball sequence.
