Man and woman arrested after 34 bodies removed from funeral parlour in police raid

Two individuals have been arrested in connection with an investigation into a funeral director in northern England. They are suspected of prevention of a lawful and decent burial, fraud by false representation, and fraud by abuse of position. Police say 34 bodies have been transported from one of Legacy Independent Funeral Directors’ branches to a mortuary for identification procedures. The arrested individuals remain in police custody, and all three branches are under police control. More than 350 calls have been received on the dedicated phone line set up by Humberside Police for concerned members of the public.
