Indonesian rescuers discovered 69 Rohingya individuals, including nine children, 18 women, and 42 men, stranded on a rusty hull near Aceh. They had been sunburnt and dehydrated after attempting a perilous sea journey to escape persecution in Myanmar and overcrowded refugee camps in Bangladesh. Unfortunately, around 80 others are feared dead as they were swept away. The survivors had been adrift for over a day, with some having spent a month at sea on a wooden boat. Despite a local fishing vessel coming to their rescue earlier, a panic ensued leading to both boats overturning.
