Over 130 Nigerian schoolchildren, kidnapped over two weeks ago, were reunited with their parents in Kaduna. The emotional meeting saw tears of joy as families embraced the children who were seized by gunmen on March 7. Despite receiving medical support, it remains unknown when the children, aged under 10 to 15, will be allowed to return home. Freed by the Nigerian military without ransom payment, the children were rescued from a forest in Zamfara state, though a staff member lost their life in captivity. School abductions have plagued Nigeria, with ransom payments often securing the release of victims. This incident is part of a series of kidnappings in the conflict-affected northwestern and central regions, where armed groups target communities for ransom.
