While the investigation confirms human rights abuses by Hamas fighters during the incursion, it debunks claims of extreme atrocities like mass killings and widespread rape that were used to justify subsequent actions against Gaza. The analysis also reveals instances where Israeli forces may have caused civilian deaths and questions the accuracy of reported stories of violence by volunteer organizations. Additionally, the investigation found insufficient evidence to support claims of widespread and systematic sexual violence during the attacks.
