The National Health Service (NHS) is encouraging people over 40 to get their blood pressure checked due to millions of undiagnosed cases with no warning symptoms. High blood pressure, often called a “silent killer,” can lead to heart attacks and strokes. Free checks are available at local pharmacies and GP surgeries. NHS England aims to reach an additional 2.5 million people through the Pharmacy First programme. Health Minister Andrea Leadsom urges everyone to visit their local pharmacy for a blood pressure check, stating it could be life-saving.
