Russia is demanding that Ukraine hand over individuals linked to terrorist acts in Russia, including the head of Ukraine’s SBU Security Service. The Russian Foreign Ministry accused Ukraine of involvement in violent incidents in Russia since the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and requested the immediate arrest and extradition of those responsible. The SBU dismissed the demand as “pointless” and highlighted an international arrest warrant against Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian statement referenced various violent acts in Russia and demanded Ukraine cease support for terrorism. The SBU criticized Russia’s demands as hypocritical, citing the arrest warrant against Putin for alleged crimes. Russia also mentioned a recent mass shooting near Moscow but did not directly link it to Ukraine.
