Ukraine has dealt significant blows to Russia’s Black Sea Fleet by using naval drones, leading to a third of the fleet being lost.A lack of defense against these drones by Moscow has forced Russia to implement new protective measures for its warships, including increased training and the installation of large-caliber machine gun small arms systems. The success of Ukrainian drone attacks prompted Russian Defense Minister Shoigu to take action. Despite these efforts, the effectiveness of the new measures remains uncertain. Russia’s territorial gains in eastern Ukraine come as Kyiv’s military support, notably from the US, faces uncertainty.
