Moscow announced the capture of a village in east Ukraine near Avdiivka, following the fall of Avdiivka to Russian forces last month. This marks the second village claimed to be seized by Moscow this week, amid Russian successes and Kyiv’s ammunition shortage. The Defense Ministry stated that Russian armed forces liberated the village of Tonenke, using precision weapons including hypersonic missiles. In response to increased shelling and incursions, Russia launched a missile attack on Kyiv after President Putin vowed to retaliate to Ukrainian actions near its borders.
