The head of Ukraine’s armed forces stated that the possibility of a Russian offensive against Kharkiv cannot be discounted. He mentioned that Ukraine is making preparations to fortify the city’s defenses in case of an attack. Kharkiv, the country’s second-largest city, has strategic and symbolic significance, as it has been a target of interest for Russian President Vladimir Putin since earlier in the conflict. Recent reports suggest that Russian forces have carried out bomb strikes on the city, possibly using new guided bomb technology to target areas from long distances, augmenting their missile capabilities.
