Paramilitary groups, such as the Freedom of Russia Legion and the Siberian Battalion, have announced a joint attack across Russia’s borders ahead of the presidential elections where Vladimir Putin is expected to secure his reelection. The groups stated they aim to liberate the people from poverty and dictatorship. Ukrainian military intelligence confirmed the involvement of the Russian Volunteer Corps in the attacks, which Russia claims to have repelled in Belgorod. This incident follows a similar attack in December by the Freedom of Russia Legion near Terebreno village.
