Two Chinese spacecraft, likely intended for lunar orbit, may have been lost due to an issue with a Long March rocket’s upper stage. The launch, which took place from Xichang Satellite Launch Center, failed to accurately insert the DRO-A and B spacecraft into their designated orbit. The purpose of these satellites, potentially intended for a distant retrograde orbit around the moon, remains undisclosed. This incident marks a significant setback for China’s space program but is not anticipated to greatly impact their future launch plans.
