Yemen’s Houthi rebels recently targeted a container ship in the Red Sea with missiles, causing an explosion nearby but no damage. The vessel, known as the Pinocchio and managed by a Singaporean firm, was struck by two anti-ship ballistic missiles. The rebels claimed the attack was in response to the Israel-Hamas conflict, although recent strikes have shown little connection to the ongoing war. This incident follows a similar attack in the Gulf of Aden that resulted in casualties. Despite U.S. airstrikes against the rebels, their assaults on shipping continue, disrupting trade in the Red Sea.
