Sweden recently joined NATO, bringing the total member count to 31, including the United States. However, Hawaii is not covered under the NATO pact due to a geographical technicality, leaving the island vulnerable in the event of an attack. Some experts argue for a reevaluation considering Hawaii’s strategic role in countering North Korean aggression and potential defense of Taiwan. While the NATO treaty excludes Hawaii, there is confidence that in case of an attack, the US and its allies would come to its aid through various means, such as forming coalitions.
