Russian attacks in eastern and southern Ukraine have left at least three people dead, with Kharkiv being hit by guided bombs for the first time since 2022. President Zelenskyy called for more Patriot air defence systems to combat the surge in missile strikes. The attacks come as Moscow retaliates for the fatal bombardments of Russia’s border regions. Attacks in southern Ukraine also resulted in casualties, with one woman killed in a drone attack. Ukrainian forces are on high alert as Russia reportedly gathers over 100,000 soldiers for a potential major offensive this summer.
