Portugal’s Ministry of Defense has announced a €100 million contribution to a Czech-led initiative to provide Ukraine with over 800,000 artillery shells to help the country defend itself against Russian forces. This aid comes at a crucial time as Ukraine faces a significant shortage of ammunition compared to its adversaries. European countries, including Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden, are also supporting the effort to bolster Ukraine’s defenses. The United States remains a major contributor of weapons to Ukraine, having provided over 2 million rounds of artillery shells since the conflict began.
