The International Court of Justice has instructed Israel to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza by opening more land crossings to allow essential supplies into the area. This decision came following a case brought by South Africa accusing Israel of genocide in response to attacks by Hamas. Israel denies the allegations but has been ordered to ensure the unobstructed provision of basic services and humanitarian aid in Gaza. The court also directed Israel to prevent actions that could harm Palestinians’ rights under the Genocide Convention. The conflict between Israel and Hamas has led to a dire situation in Gaza, with many facing famine and a lack of basic necessities. Israel insists it does not limit aid entering Gaza and is working on new initiatives to facilitate aid flow.
