The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, with 7,000 sailors, has been actively engaging Iranian-backed Houthi militants in Yemen who have been targeting ships in the Red Sea. The militants have adapted to swarm drone attacks and upgraded ballistic missile capabilities, but the Strike Group has been successful in frustrating their efforts through daily strikes by F/A-18 Super Hornets and destroyer squadrons. This has significantly reduced the militants’ activities. The Strike Group has been maintaining a relentless pace, with no port calls for nearly five months, to ensure the safety of ships passing through the Red Sea. The sailors are facing constant threats from the Houthis but remain focused on their mission to eliminate the danger in the region.
