In Berlin, as Yulia Navalnaya went to vote at the Russian Embassy, young Russians supported her against Putin, while older Russians sang in favor of Putin. The presidential election showcased Russia’s deep divisions with younger voters critical of Putin, and older voters standing by him. Despite knowing Putin’s victory was certain, many Russian citizens in Germany waited in long lines to cast their ballots, expressing the importance of exercising their right to vote. Navalny’s team, now based in Germany and Lithuania, urged Russians to participate in a “Noon Without Putin” protest, honoring Navalny’s legacy after his recent passing. Navalnaya, Navalny’s wife, voted for Navalny, expressing distrust in the system following his death in a Russian prison.
