A concerned animal lover in Knutsford, England, mistook a fluffy hat bobble for a baby hedgehog and took it to a wildlife hospital for care. The hospital manager, Janet Kotze, praised the woman’s good intentions despite the mix-up and advised that hedgehogs found during the day should be brought to a rescue center since it could indicate distress. The Lower Moss Wood Educational Nature Reserve & Wildlife Hospital where the incident occurred treats over 2,000 wildlife casualties annually with the aim of rehabilitating and releasing them back into the wild.
